Hospital Ghost Stories: Time for vital sign?
Hospital Ghost Stories: Time for vital sign?
By: Arlene Gentallan
A hospital is usually haunted by many ghosts. Each ghost with it's own story.
Have you ever noticed something strange? We could never truly know why this creepy things happen. We could only make guesses, which may or may not be correct. But who knows?
Take for example this case.
Of all the patients in the ward, nurses were most stressed with one particular patient--Mrs. Brag. She's a demanding patient who sets her own rules. If the call button alarm goes on, most likely it's Mrs. Brag with her demands.
As opposed to other patients, she made it clear that she did not want to be disturbed if she is sleeping. If she wants her vital signs to be taken, she'll press the call button to let the nurses come to her private room.
Death is an expected visitor. One night, it paid it's visit to Mrs. Brag. They knew Mrs. Brag had a grave disease. Mr. Brag decided to no longer attempt medically to revive his wife.
It was morning when Mrs. Brag's body was taken out of her room.
A couple of hours later while Sam was taking vital signs of a patient, he heard a shriek coming from her co-nurse. Upon checking, he found his colleague standing in fright as she pointed on the empty room previously occupied by Mrs. Brag.
The room is supposed to be empty but the call button alarm was suddenly on. How come? It has been functioning normally before? Is it defective now?
Sam thought for a moment. The time the calls button of the room turned on is coincidentally just a couple of minutes past the time for taking patient's vital signs. Could it be that Mrs. Brag's ghost, not knowing that she is dead, is calling out to them to let them know that they can take her vital signs. But then again, this is just a presumption that may or may not be true.
Terrified, they've waited for their other colleagues to come. They've checked the room and confirmed that it's empty. The call button of the empty room did not sound again that day.
